Paint Toronto covers the City of Toronto and the surrounding 905, from Etobicoke and Scarborough out to Oakville, Markham, Whitby and Pickering. If your address sits just outside the map, ask rather than assume.
Within one business day, with a few questions if the job needs them and a proposed time to come and look.
We measure the surfaces, check the substrate, and note the repairs and access conditions that will affect the price.
Surfaces named, coats counted, products listed, preparation itemised, and the price before HST.
No follow-up pressure. If the number does not work, tell us and we will say honestly whether the scope can be reduced or not.
A message saying "how much to paint a condo" gets a range, because that is all it can get. A message saying "two-bedroom suite near Yonge and Sheppard, walls and ceilings, smooth ceilings, moving in on the fifteenth, building needs a certificate of insurance" gets a useful answer and a proposed date.
You do not need to know any of the technical detail. Rooms, surfaces, whether the place is empty, and the building's age cover almost everything.
We measure, and then we look at things that are not obvious from a photograph. What the walls are made of, because plaster and drywall take different preparation. Whether a textured ceiling predates 1990. How tall the stairwell is and what will be needed to reach it. Whether there is a moisture path behind a basement wall. What colour is currently on the walls and how far it is from the colour you want.
Those questions are what turn a range into a price.
We cover sixteen areas across Toronto and the surrounding 905: Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, East York, Downtown Toronto, Leaside, Mississauga, Vaughan, Brampton, Oakville, Markham, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Ajax, Whitby and Pickering. Addresses close to those are usually covered on the same schedule, so it is worth asking rather than assuming.
Roughly which rooms or surfaces, whether the space will be occupied or empty, and the approximate age of the building. For exteriors, the number of storeys and the cladding type. None of it is essential, it just makes the first reply more useful than a request for more information.
It depends on the season. Interior work is busiest through the winter, exterior work through June and early July. We will give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one, and for condo work the building's own process adds time at the front end.
No. Estimates are free and come as a written scope you can keep and compare, whether or not you use us.
A range, yes, and you can get the same range yourself from our cost calculator. An actual price needs a walkthrough, because the things that move a painting quote most are the substrate, the prep and the access, and none of those can be assessed over a phone.
