Painters in Vaughan, for tall ceilings and open stairwells
Paint Toronto paints across Vaughan, where most of the housing went up after 1990 with nine and ten foot main-floor ceilings, open stairwells and long uninterrupted wall runs that show every lap mark if they are not worked properly.

What Vaughan jobs have in common
Height as standard
Nine and ten foot main floors are the norm in post-1990 stock, which adds real wall area to every room.
Long unbroken walls
Open-plan great rooms give wall runs long enough that a dried lap mark is visible from across the room.
Woodbridge is older
The original village core predates the subdivisions by generations and carries different construction entirely.
Coverage
Where we work in Vaughan
Across Woodbridge, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg and Thornhill’s Vaughan side, from the Steeles boundary north to King. Vaughan grew faster than almost anywhere else in the region through the 1990s and 2000s, so the great majority of its housing is modern: drywall throughout, tall ceilings, open plans, and builder finishes that were applied thinly and sprayed. Kleinburg and the Woodbridge village core are the exceptions, with older and more varied stock.
What a Vaughan estimate covers
Ceiling height measured
Nine and ten foot ceilings are recorded, because an eight foot assumption understates the wall area by a noticeable margin.
Stairwell and landing staged
Open stairwells and upper landings quoted with the access method named.
Spray or roll decided
Empty rooms and long runs are often better sprayed, and we say which method the quote assumes.
Builder finish tested
Original coating checked for body so the coat count in the quote is realistic.
Vaughan specifics
Vaughan modern stock is fast to paint, easy to get wrong
A post-1990 Vaughan house is, on paper, the easy version of this job. The walls are drywall, they are flat, they are plumb, and there is no plaster to test and no century of trim layers to work around. Preparation is light.
What replaces that difficulty is scale and sightline. Rooms are larger, ceilings are taller, and open plans mean you can stand in the kitchen and see an uninterrupted run of wall thirty feet long with a window throwing light along it. Every join in that wall is visible. A house that is quick to prepare is not necessarily quick to finish.
Why spraying suits Vaughan open plans
Because so much of Vaughan's stock is open plan with long runs and tall ceilings, spraying frequently beats rolling, particularly in a house that is empty between owners or before a move-in. A sprayed and back-rolled wall has no lap structure in it at all, and on a thirty-foot great room wall that difference is obvious.
The trade-off is masking. In a furnished house, containing overspray costs more time than brushing would have saved, so the method has to match the situation. We state in the quote which one it assumes.
Kleinburg and older Vaughan pockets quote differently
Kleinburg, the Woodbridge village core and scattered older properties along the concession roads predate the subdivision boom by generations. Some are genuinely historic, with plaster on lath, deep trim profiles and windows that no longer sit square in their openings.
Those get the old-Toronto treatment: a plaster check by hand, trim cut in rather than caulked flat, and an honest conversation about what the house should keep.
Vaughan painting questions
Our great room wall is very long. Will it look even?
It will if it is worked correctly. Long uninterrupted walls are where lap marks appear, because if one section dries before the next is rolled into it, the join shows as a band under side light. The fix is planning the sections and keeping a wet edge, or spraying the wall if the room is empty. It is technique rather than product.
Do tall ceilings cost more?
They add wall area and they add access. Going from eight to nine feet adds roughly an eighth to the paintable area of every room, and anything above about ten feet starts needing more than a step ladder. Both are in the quote as measured figures rather than as a vague surcharge.
Is Kleinburg different from the rest of Vaughan?
Yes. Kleinburg and the Woodbridge village core have older and more varied housing than the surrounding subdivisions, including some genuinely period stock with plaster and original trim. Those are quoted like old-Toronto interiors rather than like a modern build.
